    Bob Dylan - Hurricane

    Bob Dylan
    Hurricane
    ["Desire", 1976]

Pistol shots ring out in the barroom night
Enter Patty Valentine from the upper hall.
She sees the bartender in a pool of blood,
Cries out, "My God, they killed them all!"
Here comes the story of the Hurricane,
The man the authorities came to blame
For somethin' that he never done.
Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been
    The champion of the world.

Three bodies lyin' there does Patty see
And another man named Bello, movin' around mysteriously.
"I didn't do it," he says, and he throws up his hands
"I was only robbin' the register, I hope you understand.
I saw them leavin'," he says, and he stops
"One of us had better call up the cops."
And so Patty calls the cops
And they arrive on the scene with their red lights flashin'
In the hot New Jersey night.

Meanwhile, far away in another part of town
Rubin Carter and a couple of friends are drivin' around.
Number one contender for the middleweight crown
Had no idea what kinda shit was about to go down
When a cop pulled him over to the side of the road
Just like the time before and the time before that.
In Paterson that's just the way things go.
If you're black you might as well not show up on the street
'Less you wanna draw the heat.

Alfred Bello had a partner and he had a rap for the cops.
Him and Arthur Dexter Bradley were just out prowlin' around
He said, "I saw two men runnin' out, they looked like middleweights
They jumped into a white car with out-of-state plates."
And Miss Patty Valentine just nodded her head.
Cop said, "Wait a minute, boys, this one's not dead"
So they took him to the infirmary
And though this man could hardly see
They told him that he could identify the guilty men.

Four in the mornin' and they haul Rubin in,
Take him to the hospital and they bring him upstairs.
The wounded man looks up through his one dyin' eye
Says, "Wha'd you bring him in here for? He ain't the guy!"
Yes, here's the story of the Hurricane,
The man the authorities came to blame
For somethin' that he never done.
Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been
    The champion of the world.

Four months later, the ghettos are in flame,
Rubin's in South America, fightin' for his name
While Arthur Dexter Bradley's still in the robbery game
And the cops are puttin' the screws to him, lookin' for somebody to blame.
"Remember that murder that happened in a bar?"
"Remember you said you saw the getaway car?"
"You think you'd like to play ball with the law?"
"Think it might-a been that fighter that you saw runnin' that night?"
"Don't forget that you are white."

Arthur Dexter Bradley said, "I'm really not sure."
Cops said, "A poor boy like you could use a break
We got you for the motel job and we're talkin' to your friend Bello
Now you don't wanta have to go back to jail, be a nice fellow.
You'll be doin' society a favor.
That sonofabitch is brave and gettin' braver.
We want to put his ass in stir
We want to pin this triple murder on him
    He ain't no Gentleman Jim."

Rubin could take a man out with just one punch
But he never did like to talk about it all that much.
It's my work, he'd say, and I do it for pay
And when it's over I'd just as soon go on my way
    Up to some paradise
Where the trout streams flow and the air is nice
And ride a horse along a trail.
But then they took him to the jailhouse
Where they try to turn a man into a mouse.

All of Rubin's cards were marked in advance
The trial was a pig-circus, he never had a chance.
The judge made Rubin's witnesses drunkards from the slums
To the white folks who watched he was a revolutionary bum
And to the black folks he was just a crazy nigger.
No one doubted that he pulled the trigger.
And though they could not produce the gun,
The D.A. said he was the one who did the deed
    And the all-white jury agreed.

    Rubin Carter was falsely tried.
The crime was murder "one," guess who testified?
Bello and Bradley and they both baldly lied
And the newspapers, they all went along for the ride.
How can the life of such a man
Be in the palm of some fool's hand?
    To see him obviously framed
Couldn't help but make me feel ashamed to live in a land
    Where justice is a game.

Now all the criminals in their coats and their ties
Are free to drink martinis and watch the sun rise
While Rubin sits like Buddha in a ten-foot cell
An innocent man in a living hell.
That's the story of the Hurricane,
But it won't be over till they clear his name
And give him back the time he's done.
Put in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been
    The champion of the world

    Massive Attack
    Angel
    ["Mezzanine", 1998]

    You are my angel
    Come from way above
    To bring me love

    Her eyes
    She's on the dark side
    Neutralize
    Every man in sight

To love you, love you, love you

    You are my angel
    Come from way above

To love you, love you, love you

    Interpol - Evil

    Interpol
    Evil
    ["Antics", 2004]

    Rosemary
    Heaven restores you in life
    You're coming with me
Through the aging, the fearing, the strife
It's the smiling on the package
It's the faces in the sand
It's the thought that moves you upwards
    Embracing me with two hands
    Right will take you places
    Yeah maybe to the beach
When your friends they do come crying
Tell them now your pleasure's set up on slow-release

    Hey wait
    Great smile
    sensitive to fate not
    Denial
    But hey who's on trial?

It took a life spent with no cellmate
    The long way back
Saying me "Why can't we look the other way?"

    We speaks about travel
Yeah, we think about the land
    We smart like all peoples
    Feeling real tan
    I could take you places
Do you need a new man?
Wipe the pollen from the faces
Make revision to a dream while you wait in the van

    Hey wait
    Great smile
    sensitive to fate not
    Denial
    But hey who's on trial?

It took a life spent with no cellmate
To find the long way back
Saying me "Why can't we look the other way?"
    You're weightless, you are exotic
You need something for which to care
Saying me "Why can't we look the other way?"

Leave some shards under the belly
Lay some grease inside my hand
    It's a sentimental jury
And the makings of a good plan
You've come to love me lightly
Yeah you've come to hold me tight
    Is this motion everlasting
Or do shutters pass in the night?

    Rosemary
Oh heaven restores you in life

I spent a lifespan with no cellmate
    The long way back
Saying me "Why can't we look the other way?"
    You're weightless, semi-erotic
You need someone to take you there
Saying me "Why can't we look the other way?"
Why can't we just play the other game?
Why can't we just look the other way

    ["Hai paura del buio?", 1997]

    Silenzio pornografico
    Risvegliami, raccoglimi

    Hai la rivoluzione in te
    Mi convinci a risorgere
    Gioia sperimentale le
Le tue mani sopra di me
    L'errore più geniale
    L'errore più geniale

    Giocattolo vibrante in te
Cola miele che sa di me

    Hai la rivoluzione in te
    Mi convinci a risorgere
    Gioia sperimentale le
Le tue mani sopra di me
    L'errore più geniale
    L'errore più geniale
L'errore più geniale in cui cadere

    Cos'hai per me
    Che sa di te?

    Sei la rivoluzione che

    Gioia sperimentale le
Le tue mani sopra di me

    Smashing Pumpkins - Quiet

    Smashing Pumpkins
    Quiet
    ["Siamese dream", 1993]

    Quiet
    I am sleeping
    In here
    We need a little hope

    For years
    I've been sleeping
    Helpless
    Couldn't tell a soul

    Be ashamed
    Of the mess you've made
My eyes never forget, you see
    Behind me

    Silent
    Metal mercies
    Castrate
    Boys to the bone

    Jesus
    Are you listening?
    Up there
    To anyone at all

    We are the fossils
    The relics of our time
    We mutilate the meanings
    So they're easy to deny

    Be ashamed
    Of the mess youve made
My eyes never forget, you see
    Behind me

    Quiet
    I am sleeping
    Quiet
    I am sleeping
    Quiet
    I don't trust you
    I can't hear you

    Be ashamed
    Of the mess you've made
My eyes never forget, you see
    Behind me

    Behind me
    The grace of falling snow
    Cover up everything you know
Come save me from the awful sound
    Of nothing

    Verdena
    Onan
    ["Solo un grande sasso", 2001]

    ora sembra inutile
    ora voli al limite
ora che ti sentirei più che mai
    ebbene ti raggiungerei

    mi spremi e inventi nuvole
e mi illudo spesso come se...

    poi la vertigine
    non è più semplice
    ora svuoto gli occhi miei
    onan vorrei
    ebbene ti raggiungerei

    mi spremi e inventi nuvole
e mi illudo spesso come se non c'è
    io ti raggiungerei

    non è più possibile
    sembri impenetrabile
    ora chiedimi perchè
    non è più così semplice
    dovrei sopravvivere
    ora giuro è impossibile
    se ti raggiungerei

    mi spremi e inventi nuvole
e mi illudo spesso come se

    non è più possibile
    sembri impenetrabile
    ora chiedimi perchè
    non è più così semplice
    dovrei sopravvivere
    ora giuro è impossibile
    se ti raggiungerei

    mi spremi e inventi nuvole
e mi illudo spesso come se

    Afterhours
    Bianca
    ["Non è per sempre", 1999]

Sei il colore che non ho
    e non catturerò
ma se ci fosse un metodo
    vorrei che fosse il mio

Fanne quel che vuoi, di noi
    me l'hai insegnato tu
se c'è una cosa che è immorale
    è la banalità
    lo sai
    lo sai

Che tu sei troppo bianca per restare
mano nella mano con te stessa
e non voglio certo che tu sia
la mia più bella cosa mai successa

Sei il colore che non ho
    e che vorrei essere io
    ma se ti rende libera
    ti regalo il mio
    lo sai
    lo sai

Che tu sei troppo bianca per restare
mano nella mano con te stessa
e non voglio certo che tu sia
la mia più bella cosa mai successa

Tu sei troppo bianca per restare
mano nella mano con te stessa

Interpol - Say hello to the angels

    Interpol
    Say hello to the angels
["Turn on the bright lights", 2002]

    I want your silent parts
    The parts the birds love
    I know there's such a place

    I had my back turned
    You didn't realize
    I'm lonely

    You lack the things
    To which I relate
    But I see no harm

Come wait, come wait, come wait
    It's over.
    Yeah one...two...three...do me

When I'm feeling lazy, it's probably because,
I'm saving all my energy to pick up
When you move into my airspace
    You move into my airspace

And something's coming over me, I see you in the doorway
I can't control the part of me that swells up
When you move into my airspace
    You move into my airspace

But each night, I bury my love around you...
Oh each night, I bury my love around you...
    You're linked to my innocence

    This is a concept
    This is a bracelet
    This isn't no intervention
    This is a concept
    This is a bracelet
    This isn't no intervention

    This isn't you yet
What you thought was such a conquest
You're hair is so pretty and red
Baby, baby you're really the best...

Can I get there this way?
    I think so
Can I get there this way?
    I think so
Can I get there this way?
Can I get there this way?
Can I get there this way?
Can I get there this way?

We should take a trip now to see new places
    I'm sick of this town
I see my face has changed
We should take a trip now to see new places
    I'm sick of this town
I see my face has changed

Say hello, say hello, to the angels

    A quanto pare sei
    più lucida di me
    così lo scoprirai
    da te, da te

    sei consapevole
    di non sentirti più
    in me, in me

    e in ogni crimine
    che sei
    e in ogni crimine
    che fai

    la mia mediocrità
    è la mia agilità
    sei porpora oh dio
    chi sei, chi sei

    allenati con me
    immergimi nei tuoi
    perchè, perchè

    e in ogni crimine
    che sei

    che fai

    ma ancora io non so
    le cose che dirò
    di te

    Skin - Trashed

    Skin
    Trashed
    ["Fleshwounds", 2003]

    I’m like a soldier
    With no cause to fight
    Playing with bar boys
    To test you just right

    I watch your features
    I check for a sign
    Of some kind of failure
    Then I feel sublime

Now I know I have to live without you
I can only bend so far
Guess it’s time to make some moves
    without you
Now you’ve gone and trashed my heart

    Solid demeanour
    I look good a feat
    Still I’m too vicous
    To take on defeat

    Yes I hear
You don’t feel this any more
    I see
There’s nothing to believe in anymore
    Just two snitches on heat
    Still avoiding the grief
    Because it felt so hard

    Balanite

    e fa male ancora

    Eppure non stai per piangere
torna la libidine prima o poi
lo spero per te finta comodità
torna la libidine prima o poi

Ho sonno e dormo un po’ di più
perdo la lucidità ma la ritrovo sempre
l’orrore scenico perde tutta la comicità
    ed io mi chiedo perché

    Davvero non stai per piangere
torna la libidine prima o poi
lo spero per te finta comodità
torna la libidine prima o poi

    SubsOnicA - Colpo di pistola

    SubsOnicA
    Colpo di pistola
    ["Microchip emozionale", 1999]

    Ritorno sui miei passi
    E adesso contali bene
    Il tempo che è passato
    Non è una buona ragione
Ho idea che non mi basti
    Lo scambio di un'opinione
    E neanche l'imbarazzo
Con cui mi mostri le scuse

    La muta del serpente
    Nasconde il tuo vero nome
    Di chiacchiere suadenti
    Sono già stato a lezione
    Baciando la fiducia
Con un rasoio a due lame
    Hai fatto molta strada
    Sacrificato persone

Ci provo gusto me ne accorgo ed allora
Ci provo gusto me ne accorgo ed allora
Non mi seccare coi tuoi alibi alibi

    Durante questo tempo
    Ho vomitato rancore
    Ho ricucito i pezzi
    Ricominciato a sperare
    Avevi tutto quanto

Ci provo gusto me ne accorgo ed allora

    Morcheeba
    Blindfold
    ["Big calm", 1998]

    Three months in here
    Can't catch the tears
    Time never lands
Our love is all that stands now

    Streets feel strange
And longer lives can never change

I'm so glad to have you
    And it's getting worse
I'm so mad to love you
    And you're evil curse

    I feel out of place
    Just look at my face
    Stuck in the mud
    Knee-deep in blood girl

    Eyes, blind fold
You never said I'm growing old

I'm so glad to have you
    And it's getting worse
I'm so mad to love you
    And you're evil curse
I'm so glad to have you
    And it's getting worse
I'm so mad to love you
    And you're evil curse

My my my heart is still reliant
    very light

    Tell them I've gone
    And nothing's wrong
    In from the past
    A sudden blast bang

    Spring has gone
And summer keeps on coming on

I'm so glad to have you
    And it's getting worse
I'm so mad to love you
    And you're evil curse
I'm so glad to have you
    And I'm getting worse
I'm so mad to love you
    And you're evil curse
I'm so glad to have you
    And I'm getting worse
I'm so mad to love you

    Joy Division - Shadowplay

    Joy Division
    Shadowplay
    ["Unknown pleasures", 1979]

To the centre of the city where all roads meet, waiting for you
To the depths of the ocean where all hopes sank, searching for you
I was moving through the silence without motion, waiting for you
In a room with a window in the corner I found truth

In the shadowplay, acting out your own death, knowing no more
As the assassins all grouped in four lines, dancing on the floor
And with cold steel, odour on their bodies mad a move to connect
But I could only stare in disbelief as the crowds all left

I did everything, everything I wanted to,
I let them use you for their own ends,
To the centre of the city in the night, waiting for you
To the centre of the city in the night, waiting for you

    Interpol - Slow hands

    Interpol
    Slow hands
    ["Antics", 2004]

    Yeah but nobody searches
    Nobody cares somehow
When the loving that you've wasted
Comes raining from a hapless cloud
And I might stop and look upon your face
Disappear in the sweet, sweet gaze
See the living that surrounds me
    Dissipate in a violet place

Can't you see what you've done to my heart
    And soul?
    This is a wasteland now

    We spies
    We slow hands
Put the weights all around yourself
    We spies
    Oh yeah we slow hands
You put the weights all around yourself now

I submit my incentive is romance
I watched the pole dance of the stars
We rejoice because the hurting is so painless
From the distance of passing cars
But I am married to your charms & grace
I just go crazy like the good old days
You make me want to pick up a guitar
And celebrate the myriad ways that I love you

Can you see what you've done to my heart
    And soul?
    This is a wasteland now

    We spies
    Yeah we slow hands
You put the weights all around yourself
    We spies
    Oh yeah we slow hands
Killer, for hire you know not yourself

    We spies
    We slow hands
You put the weights all around yourself
    We spies
    Oh yeah we slow hands
    We retire like nobody else
    We spies
    Intimate slow hands killer
For hire you know not yourself
    We spies
    Intimate slow hands
You let the face slap around herself

    Go if you want to
I never tried to stop you
    Know there's a reason
For all of this you're feeling
    Low it's not my call
You couldn't ever love me more
    You couldn't love me more
    You couldn't love

    Me I don't show much
It's not that hard to hide you
    See in a moment
    I can't remember how to
    Be all you wanted
I couldn't ever love you more
    I couldn't love you more
    I couldn't love

You want me to cry and play my part
I want you to sigh and fall apart
We want this like everyone else

    Stay if you want to
I'll always wait to hear you
    Say there's a last kiss
For all the times you run this
    Way it's not my fault
You couldn't ever love me more
    Couldn't love me more
    Couldn't love
    (Love me more)

I couldn't ever love you more
    I couldn't love you more
    I couldn't love

You want me to lie not break your heart
I want you to fly not stop and start
We want us like everything else

    Ooooh
    Ooooh

    Maybe we didn't understand
It's just the end of the world

    Maybe we didn't understand
Not just a boy and a girl
It's just the end of the
    end of the world

    Me I don't say much
It's far too hard to make you
    See in a moment
I still forget just how to
    Be all you wanted
I couldn't ever love you more
    I couldn't love you more
    I couldn't love you more
    I couldn't love you more
    I couldn't love you more

Depeche Mode - I feel you

    Depeche Mode
    I feel you
["Songs of faith and devotion", 1993]

    I feel you
    Your sun it shines
    I feel you
    Within my mind
    You take me there
    You take me where
    The kingdom comes
    You take me to
    And lead me through
    Babylon

This is the morning of our love
It's just the dawning of our love

    I feel you
    Your heart it sings
    I feel you
    The joy it brings
    Where heaven waits
    Those golden gates
    And back again
    You take me to
    And lead me through
    Oblivion

This is the morning of our love
It's just the dawning of our love

    I feel you
    Your precious soul
    And I am whole
    I feel you
    Your rising sun
    My kingdom comes

    I feel you
    Each move you make
    I feel you
    Each breath you take
    Where angels sing
    And spread their wings
    My love's on high
    You take me home
    To glory's throne
    By and by

This is the morning of our love
It's just the dawning of our love

    Afterhours - Dea

    Afterhours
    Dea
    ["Hai paura del buio?", 1997]

    Stracciami Barbara avrò la mente
contorta lo so ma non m'importa
Stracciami forse la smetto d'elaborare teoremi d'ogni sorta
    Scusami amore voglio solo dormire

    dea, dea, dea

    dea, dea, dea, dea

Francesco De Gregori - Compagni di viaggio

    Francesco De Gregori
    Compagni di viaggio
    ["Prendere e lasciare", 1996]

Lui disse "Non adesso, ne abbiamo già discusso troppo spesso,
    aiutami piuttosto a far presto,
